The much taunted, (and to be honest, awaited) American Karaoke show is back!

The Tuesday night premiere landed with resounding thud!

Neilsen says that the 13.8 ratings for the premiere were the lowest in four years, down 11% from last year. The demo and total-viewer numbers were the lowest since 2004.

In the meantime, a half-drunk (who parrots her not-so-articulate pal) and the Brit (Mr. Meany-face!) are racking up records faster than they can churn out winners.

Just to recap, RCA Records has gotten rid of American Idol fifth-season winner Taylor Hicks, runner-up Katherine McPhee, both of whom are, of course, following in the footsteps of Season 2’s Ruben Studdard in being let go from RCA.

Sounds healthy to me!
