Kirsten Dunst, Eva Mendes, Grey’s Anatomy star Justin Chambers, The Insider’s Pat O’Brien, Lindsay Lohan, Amy Winehouse, Scott Weiland and of course, Britney Spears, have one thing in common.
No. It’s not that they are all celebrities (although that would be correct, except for O’Brien), it’s that they all have recently and famously been entered into rehabilitation facilities in the last few months.
Either by their own will, or against it, many of these stars (except O’Brien) have found it necessary to check into rehab lately leaving many of us to wonder….
Is celebrity life really that bad?
What is it about getting rich, traveling the world, and meeting all kinds of other famous people that drives one to the brink of sanity?
All of these people have found fame and success in their own ways. Kirsten Dunst still finds work, so does Eva Mendes, and Gray’s Anatomy is a huge hit show. Lindsay Lohan still get’s reported on, even though her films are unintentional comedies. It evens seems that the price of fame rubbed off onto Pat O’Brien due to his constant contact with Hollywood.
Hell, Amy Winehouse just won five Grammy’s for her song entitled, “Rehab!”
Tell me this is not a trend!
I don’t know. I have always heard that with celebrity comes false friends and hangers-on. Maybe that’s enough to drive you crazy.
Believe me, it can make you pretty mad.
I once bought a scratch-off and won $500. Next thing I know, Carl Davis was standing next to me wanting to know if I wanted to go to his house and play video games. But he forgot his wallet, so I had to buy the beer, the pizzas and the Playstation 2….and the TV. And the games.
Turns out, I don’t even think he had any of these things in the first place.
I was so mad that I got drunk, dressed in my overalls, drove to a bar, flashed my man-boobs and made a scene.
So, yeah. I can kinda understand it.
