You’ve seen the clip of Hilary Duff’s new movie, “War, Inc.” How can anyone resist watching a 20-year-old former tween star drop a scorpion down her skimpy shorts?
Anyway, did you notice John Cusack’s jaw dropping to the ground? Cusack, who turns 42 this year, can’t resist either.
This begs the question — why would John Cusack, known for movies such as “High Fidelity” and “Being John Malkovich,” do a movie with Hilary Duff, known for, well, nothing of note except a kid’s show on the Disney Channel?
The answer – Savage Steve Holland.
Savage Steve directed Cusack in “Better Off Dead” and “One Crazy Summer.” If you have not seen these movies or have not seen them in a while, rent them, buy them and watch them until its vocabulary becomes your vocabulary.
Savage Steve also directed Duff in 13 episodes of “Lizzy McGuire.”
The connection makes a lot of sense. “Better Off Dead” and “One Crazy Summer” had animated sequences which showed what was going on in Cusack’s head. “Lizzy McGuire” had animated sequences which showed what was going on in Duff’s head.
So, is Savage Steve involved in “War, Inc.”? No. He’s been working on another kid’s show, “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.” Cusack actually wrote and produced “War, Inc.” which is a futuristic thriller.
No, Duff isn’t Cusack love interest – that honor goes to Academy Award Winner Marisa Tomei, but Duff does try to seduce Cusack, which is probably cool in the future where 42 is the new 22.
“War, Inc.” also stars Academy Award Winner Ben Kingsley. Perhaps being in a movie with such noted stars is a move to make Duff seem like an adult actor. Playing a slut always helps, because “grown-up girl” equals “slut” in our world.
That’s the way Jodi Foster would do it.
Wait, no, she played a rape victim in “The Accused.” That’s different. Never mind. Perhaps the slut thing will work out for Duff.
Anymore Savage Steve connections in the future? We sure hope so. Imagine 45-year-old Demi Moore seducing 17-year-old Devon Werkheiser (BTW, happy birthday), or 54-year-olf Curtis “Booger” Armstrong going after 18-year-old Lindsey “Moze” Shaw.
Yeah, it will work.
